From the director’s chair
Greetings, Jr. Civic friends, families, and students!

Welcome to Jr. Civic! I am proud to announce this new season of quality theatre education programming for the Indianapolis metro area. I hope you can join us as we continue to offer top-notch classroom and performance opportunities for children and adults of all ages.

Whether you are learning about our programs for the first time or have taken classes with Jr. Civic before, we hope you will take time to check out some of the fun and creative options we present year-round at the Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel. Here are some things to look for in the brochure and on the website:

New Satellite Locations in Carmel and Indianapolis!
On-Demand Programming to work with your schedule!
Backstage Pass field trips!
Play Pass — a free ticket for all students!
YAP Jr. for busy Middle School students!

After you’ve perused the website for frequently updated information, be sure to “Like” our Jr. Civic page on Facebook to keep up with the latest happenings in our classes and at the Theatre!

Booth Tarkington Civic Theatre offers year-round educational programming for youth, toddlers through grade 12. We also offer the TARKINGTON STUDIO SERIES of workshops for adults. We are proud that all our classes are taught by local, working theatre and education professionals. Each class is designed to strengthen and build confidence, advance growth, develop skills, create opportunities to make new friends, and foster a life-long love of live theatre. But, most of all — it’s FUN!

I hope to see you at the theatre soon!

Jr. Civic On Demand

Having trouble fitting one of our regularly scheduled classes into your hectic schedule? We can help! Jr. Civic’s ON-DEMAND program offers neighborhood associations, community groups, and service organizations the chance to host a number of our existing classes on a schedule that works for you!  You provide us with the dates and times that are convenient for your group and we will provide the curriculum and an instructor.  We can also bring the class to your location if necessary.

If you have a group of 6-10 young people interested in taking one of the applicable classes, we will tailor a regular 8-week or 4-week Intensive class session to accommodate you. All ON-DEMAND classes require 6-10 students to run.  Look for the ON-DEMAND logo throughout this brochure to see which classes are offered.

Please contact Holly Stults Haas at 317-853-6317 or e-mail education@civictheatre.org for pricing information and to arrange for an ON-DEMAND class.
