Hey, Broadway Baby!
This class for mommy (or daddy, grandma or caregiver!) and baby now meets at The Urban Chalkboard located at 452 East Carmel Drive in Carmel – an exciting new partnership! In class, our youngest students utilize basic movement and musical patterns proven to stimulate brain development and encourage self-expression. A structured curriculum employs musical theatre as a platform for early-childhood development and includes hands-on activities and group exercises that will make these little stars shine. A CD of songs used in the class is provided to each family, ensuring fun beyond the classroom.

Let’s play!
Preschoolers will discover the magic of storytelling by using their “instruments” – body and voice – for creative, dramatic self-expression. Curriculum includes elements of music and movement that will challenge these young students in a fun and interactive setting. Children will leave the class with a new sense of self and the world around them.

Once upon a time…!
Utilizing elements from all the artistic disciplines (music, visual art, literature, etc…), children explore the structure of a story, develop a deeper awareness of self through traditional acting exercises for youth, and discover new ways to express creative ideas and use their imaginations. Ultimately, listening skills develop and natural instincts emerge allowing everyone to flourish and have fun in a unique environment that simultaneously promotes social interaction and individual expression.

Sat. (4/15 – 6/10) 10:00-11:00 (no class on 5/27)
Mon. (4/17 – 6/12) 5:00 – 6:00 (no class on 5/29)

In the event of inclement weather, the Director of Education will, in accordance with the Theatre’s policy of cancelling activities only during a declared Snow Emergency, determine whether classes will run or be cancelled.  In the event of a cancellation, each student will be contacted via email or phone at the earliest possible time in order to avoid an unnecessary trip.

Civic Theatre will make every effort to make up the lost class time.  In concurrence with Theatre policy, there are no refunds for class time lost due to weather.  With that in mind, be assured that we will make every effort to run classes as scheduled.
