What Are Corporate Matching Gifts?
Employer (or corporate) matching gifts are one of the most popular forms of workplace giving and corporate philanthropy. Companies that offer matching gift programs agree to match the charitable donations their employees make to qualifying organizations. This is most often done at a dollar-for-dollar rate (1:1), though some employers agree to match at 2:1 or even 3:1 donation ratios. These programs are often part of broader corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts, making it easy for employees to engage in meaningful giving while supporting Civic Theatre's mission. STEP 1:
Check your employer Matching Gift program.
Reach out to your Human Resources department to see if your employer has a matching gift program.
Closely review instructions on how your gift can qualify for your company's matching gift program.
STEP 2:
Make a donation.
Select Civic Theatre as your charity of choice and make your donation within your company’s guidelines!
STEP 3:
Submit your match request.
Typically, your company will need a receipt of your donation and a completed matching gift form. Submit these materials promptly to the appropriate department, usually HR or the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team. Follow up to ensure the match is processed.
