Course Fee: $250
Students participating in this group-oriented voice lesson will learn grade-level-appropriate songs, focusing on a variety of music styles, that ultimately serve to improve the basic building blocks of musical rhythm and tonality. Students will also continue to develop beginning vocal music skills including: ear training, pitch matching, breath support, solfege, and rhythm while simultaneously advancing social interaction, individual expression, performance style and dramatic interpretation.
The 11-session class culminates with a performance recital for family and friends designed to demonstrate progress.
All students will meet on the first day of class, February 12, from 4.30-6.00pm for assessment. Students will then meet at their assigned level’s time for the remainder of the session.
Class Levels/Dates:
Level 1 – 4.30-5.15pm, Wednesdays, Feb. 19 – May 6 (no class on 4/1, 4/8)
Level 2 – 5.20-6.05pm, Wednesdays, Feb. 19 – May 6 (no class on 4/1, 4/8)
Assessment class for all students – Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 4.30-6.00pm
Final Performance:
Performance Recital for both classes: Friday, May 8 at 6.30pm
Required Materials:
The “Full Voice Workbook” (not included in class fee), a 3-ring binder, any current music repertoire, a bottle of water.
Recording devices, such as iDevices, smart phones, small audio recorders are strongly recommended.
At-home Practice Expectations:
Students are expected to practice enough at home to reach their lesson goals each week. Practice should focus on both vocal exercises and repertoire. Additionally, students must memorize their repertoire for recital performances.
