Young Artists Program
In addition to two fully-staged productions in the summer, Civic Theatre’s Young Artists Program (YAP) is a year-round series of workshops and seminars designed just for high school students interested in improving their skills in a professional setting and looking to prepare for college auditions and beyond.
All workshops are taught by performers and instructors with extensive experience locally, regionally and nationally. YAP also includes intensive rehearsals, specialized workshops and performances. Training will focus on developing the skills needed to succeed professionally, including character development, vocal coaching and advanced dance technique.

Each session is $25.
Learn more about the YAP program in general as well as information on the summer Master Class opportunities we'll offer all summer long.
- We will discuss the character breakdown for LEGALLY BLONDE as well as the ins and outs of REVUE!
- We will learn a dance combination that will be similar to the dance audition on audition day.
- We will give you all that you need to know to best prepare you for a great audition, including song choices, music preparation and ways to boost your confidence. Preparation is key to a good audition, and we are here to help!
- PLUS! We will have a special appearance from Richard Blake, Broadway's original Warner from LEGALLY BLONDE!
Attending a prep session is NOT mandatory to audition.
If you are a returning YAP family member, invite your friends so they can learn more about this amazing opportunity to be a part of our summer shows, attend classes, build new friendships and have a blast this summer!
REMINDER: YAP Auditions are on March 8th and 9th at 1:00PM, both days. Check in will begin at 12:30 each day. Choose ONE day to attend. Dance call is at 1:00 for everyone.
