Young Artists Program
In addition to two fully-staged productions in the summer, Civic Theatre’s Young Artists Program (YAP) is a year-round series of workshops and seminars designed just for high school students interested in improving their skills in a professional setting and looking to prepare for college auditions and beyond.
All workshops are taught by performers and instructors with extensive experience locally, regionally and nationally. YAP also includes intensive rehearsals, specialized workshops and performances. Training will focus on developing the skills needed to succeed professionally, including character development, vocal coaching and advanced dance technique.

YAP’s Winter Break Workshops are the perfect way to shake off the boredom, prepare for show choir season and hone your dance skills with professional dancers. Mix and match these exciting workshops or take all four for a specially reduced price.

YAP Winter Break Open Level Tap for Musical Theatre with Ian Black
This workshop is for students grades 8-12, and alumni of the YAP Program.
Guest Artist Ian Black is back to boost your tap skills in this class designed with a specific focus on Musical Theatre!
Tap shoes are required for this class.

This workshop is for students grades 8-12, and alumni of the YAP Program.
Learn the latest Broadway dance styles with HAMILTON Dance Captain, Karlee Ferreira!
Open to all levels of experience. Students should wear appropriate attire for movement. A jazz shoe or boot is suggested but not required. Athletic shoes will suffice.

This workshop is for students grades 8-12, and alumni of the YAP Program.
Bob Fosse's choreography is legendary in the Musical Theatre world. Join Civic's Anne Beck to learn the basics of the master's technique!
