What is a ghost light? A ghost light is a single lightbulb left burning on stage whenever a theatre is dark. Is it there for safety? Yes, of course. But tradition holds that we also keep the ghost light burning to keep mischievous theatre spirits at bay, and to keep the theatre happy and healthy.

"Why don't you do Hamilton?" Well...
Patience is a virtue in the theatre world. While we'd love nothing more than to put every Broadway hit on the Tarkington stage in quick order, those in charge often keep them close to the vest for a while. Join us for WAITING IN THE WINGS, a fundraiser cabaret to benefit Civic Theatre, on January 22, 2025. Our talented cast of Civic favorites will perform selections from these shows; the shows we would LOVE to see on the Knebel Stage, hope to put there someday, but can't get quite yet.
